A career built in the Twin Cities

Every chapter of Ahadu Legesse’s career has taken place in the Minneapolis–St. Paul metropolitan area. That is unusual today, and it shaped his perspective: having worked for several large Minnesota employers, he has seen how different organizations approach the same business problems, and he brings those comparisons to every project.

Minneapolis: Target and U.S. Bank

Ahadu started at Target Corporation in Minneapolis in 1998, supporting operations with reports, project records and coordination between teams. In 2004 he joined U.S. Bank in Minneapolis as a project coordinator and became a project manager there in 2008, leading internal projects, technology updates and changes to administrative procedures.

Fridley: Medtronic

From 2012 to 2020 he managed operational excellence projects at Medtronic in Fridley, focusing on workflow standardization, department coordination and making procedures easier for employees to follow.

Minnetonka: UnitedHealth Group

Since 2020 he has been a Senior Project Manager in Business Operations at UnitedHealth Group in Minnetonka, coordinating cross-functional teams and supporting the rollout of new business systems.

Saint Paul and Coon Rapids: education

His education is also local: an associate degree from Anoka-Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Metropolitan State University in Saint Paul. See the education page for details.

Professional development across the metro

Ahadu follows the professional development scene across the Twin Cities, including the events and educational programs of the PMI Minnesota Chapter, and he hopes to give back by mentoring people who are new to the field. He wrote about the options in his blog, and he still calls Anoka home.
